Qualifications and Experience

To head the Surgical Services Directorate and manage both capital and human resources

The IRC implements programs in the areas of comprehensive primary health care, nutrition, protection, peace building, water and sanitation and hygiene (WASH), HIV/AIDS prevention, response to gender based violence, disaster risk reduction (DRR), livelihoods and governance. Health Information Systems (HIS) Officer

Description Under the supervision of the Health Team Leader shall be responsible for the overall collection, summarizing, compiling and dissemination, storing and timely reporting of all forms of health related data generated from the activities of the health program.
He/she will supervise and head the HIS department. He/she shall be expected to hospital records and stationery, coordinate referrals and also act as the focal IT person at field level. Key Responsibilities
  • Overall responsibility for the compilation and interpretation of health data
  • To develop and provide the required data collection instruments to all health facilities.
  • Continuous and frequent close monitoring / supervision of all levels of data collection from entry, filling, compiling, summarizing and giving feedback to Health Team Leader
  • To enforce timely submission of data from all the collection points, including monthly planning reports for all departments.
  • To ensure quality and integrity of data
  • Assist the sources of health information to utilize data for planning and management purpose.
  • Provide technical input, review and validate all IRC reports with regards to data mentioned.
  • Feeding of health information into the program planning process
  • Provide data to IRC, UNHCR and relevant Implementation Partners (IPs) and put in place a feedback system to the various sources in the health program.
  • To develop a health database that can be shared within a Local Area Network (LAN)
  • Overall responsibility for special data management projects including:
VCT & PMCT Data,
Pepfar reports
TB Data
Nutrition reports
Knowledge & Attitude Surveys
Disease Surveillance
  •  Provide ICT support
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reports and contribute to the development of the annual work plan.
  • Develop and manage database system for monitoring and evaluation and generate periodic reports to inform and guide programs.
  • Manage hospital records.
  • Development of Data collection systems and tools
  • In close collaboration with the  Clinical services, Nutrition , Gender Based Violence and  HIV programs, ensure the integrated development, strengthening, harmonization data collection tools and use
Minimum requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information management or equivalent.
  • Computer literacy with possible advanced Ms word, Ms Excel, Ms PowerPoint and Ms access
  • Knowledge in computer statistical packages (EPI INFO,SPSS and Stata)
  • At least with at least 5 years experience in managing Health Information System
  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Strong management skills (Managing, motivating and developing staff)
  • Ready to work in difficult environmental conditions
  • Must be flexible and culturally sensitive

The Catering Manager shall:
